Currently employed at Help AG as Marketing Manager, Alexandra Pisetskaya enjoys the opportunity to spin out creative marketing ideas with a dash of fun.
Alexandra started her career in advertising but always wanted to be more involved in marketing. Her break came when she joined global value added distributor Computerlinks as marketing manager and was later promoted to Director of Marketing. After three years at Computerlinks she moved on to join Help AG as Marketing Manager. She holds degrees in Journalism and Master of International Business and was born Russian in a family of academic intelligentsia. Her father, a scientist in the fields of geophysics and oceanography, travelled around the world and Alexandra with him.
Now in the challenging field of marketing, she feels her stint at Computerlinks has given her exposure to international business and helped her with management skills, while the current stint at Help AG has brought new elements into her work life. “Help AG is not only fun to work at, but also gives me an opportunity to be creative and work on all aspects of marketing in its truest of forms.” Her earlier years in the Middle East were challenging but now things seem to be more in control. She enjoys creative marketing, including planning, working with media and events. “There is nothing really that I do not like doing in my current job.” However fitting activities into a budget adds another dimension into her work situation. “They say most creative marketing comes out of the biggest financial constraints and I believe it is true to a large extent. Yet I keep thinking of things I could do with more money.”

Alexandra believes in reading a lot and staying up to date and informed. She recollects her father’s advice twenty years ago when he stressed the importance of reading industry magazines in the related field of work, and also the same advice from Lee Reynolds more recently at Computerlinks. Alexandra manages stress by avoiding getting stressed in the first place. “That is a much harder and more rewarding practise. I have a long history with stress so now I do not sweat with the small stuff.” She feels another of her strengths is always keeping her word and promise whether in professional or personal situations.
Off work, Alexandra immerses herself in multiple hobbies that have been changing over time, the more recent ones include acting and singing in short films and small plays. She also enjoys fishing and learnt to play chess with her family before learning how to read. Another stress buster for her!
Her favourite day dream is becoming a business owner leading to a state of financial freedom. “I just feel starting and running a business regardless of its size is the most satisfying and rewarding professional and to a large extent personal experience.” She points out, according to The Economist, 47% of the world’s richest people are entrepreneurs, which makes business ownership the number one way to financial freedom. Alexandra does not draw a line between her personal and professional life and social media is an important aspect of both these sides of her life. “Laptop and smartphone are the additional two limbs of the neo homo sapiens,” she concludes.
